I’m Margarita Mercado Medina, MD.

I am Board Certified in Obesity Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology. I did my training At NYU Winthrop Hospital in Long Island, NY. I’ve been practicing medicine since 2009.

I am also certified by the North American Menopause Society and have additional training in Nutrition from the Stanford Nutrition Science Institute.

Throughout my life I have struggled being Overweight and High Cholesterol since my early 30’s. I have tried all the diets only find my self on the eternal cycle of weight loss and regain, afraid of foods and hunger, but also binging. I then became Pre-diabetic at 40 years old.

It wasn’t until decided to take the long road towards understanding and healing my relationship with food that I started to overcome weight issues along with midlife metabolic changes.

The fog was dense, but with the right medical tools, self-discipline and patience, I’ve transformed into a healthier version of myself.

I speak English and Spanish. I am Originally from Puerto Rico and have lived in Santo Domingo, Miami, New York City, Philadelphia, Denver and Spokane. I now call the city of Seattle home.

I’m an extrovert and love meeting new people.

I like to cook, walk my dog, travel, hike, workout and dance.
